I don’t know about you, but I can’t believe it’s October already. What happened to the summer?!
The nights are getting cold, the sun is already starting to hide its face for more hours than it shows it, and I’m not looking forward to what’s about to come my way.
Let’s just say this image —————————–>
is one that I can relate to on spiritual levels.
As much as I love hugs, a happy snowman I am not.
However!
There ARE things to look forward to and that actually is what this post is all about. Though I do appreciate you reading through my mini rant. Thank you. ❤
So, what’s on the horizon? So, so many things, let me tell you what:
OCTOBER:
As some of you are already aware, I’ve started doing month guest posts at Love Bytes Reviews — last month’s post HERE — so, Lord willing and the creek don’t rise (for those that know me, I’ll give you two guesses on where I got *that* gem from) I’ll be back on October 20th with my newest blog, answering a friend’s question on “where I get the ideas for my characters.”
Also — breaking news!! — within the next little while there should be some up and coming information about a joint author chat that I’ll be attending with a certain good friend of mine, for a certain amazing website, on October 31st from 11 pm to midnight… *ghost noises here*. Stay tuned!
NOVEMBER:
The Chase and The Catch releases November 19th (just in time for Christmas presents, folks). I’ve been looking forward to this one making its debut for some time now. The official blurb, purchasing link, and content notes can be found HERE, but for those that don’t want to click through, here’s the ten word summary: An author with nightmares and an actor with an agenda…
Go ahead, click through. After all, The Chase and The Catch is still available with a pre-order discount of 15% until the day before its release. Who doesn’t like to ‘save, save, save’, am I right?
Finally, keep your eyes open for a quick little free read that may or may not be on its way November 1st . (Spoiler: It is.)
DECEMBER:
On December 17th my short story A Beautiful Thing will release in Less Than Three Press’s anthology A Touch of Mistletoe.
It’s a collection about people brought together by the magic of mistletoe, and includes stories from E.E. Ottoman, J.K. Pendragon, Megan Derr, Talya Andor, and myself. Check out all the details HERE and, once again, save 15% if you pre-order now.
Sounds like a great way to hide from enjoy the holidays to their fullest. 😉
AND FINALLY… 2015:
Road Trip will be released sometime during the first quarter of the new year. It’s a story about a young man with a secret, and a ’69 RoadRunner driven by a closet dreamer. It’s fun, sexy, and surprisingly angst-free. All right, all right, stop dropping to the ground in mock-shock. Yes, I CAN occasionally write without the use of excessive drama. 😉
And NOW… here… the news I’ve been dying to share all along… just because OMG the pretties! Less Than Three Press has accepted my newest manuscript, Baby’s on Fire. It’s a novel about a glam rock star and his fan in 1974. Or is it a novel about a rock star and his not-so-fan in 1994? I’ll let you decide.
Baby’s on Fire was an absolute thrill to write. The words seemed to just fall off my fingers, my beta reader couldn’t say enough about it, and I got to listen to way too much Bowie and Venus in Furs. Speaking of my beta reader… *drum roll*
You know how when you’re reading a thing, and that thing ends up inspiring another thing, and before you know it there are things everywhere? Yeah, that. Hence this bit of beauty right here ———————————————————->>
Is that… why, yes, it is! The official cover for Baby’s on Fire by the talented Raphael! Thank you, buddy. As you already know, I’m in love with what you’ve done with this. <3<3<3
Huge thanks to Less Than Three Press for going above and beyond the call of duty with this cover. <3<3<3
And finally, I’m about 70% through another work in progress, but alas I have this crazy belief about not sharing spoilers for fear of jinxing the story. Okay, I’ll give you one. Spoiler: *growls*
That’s it for now, everyone! Hope you enjoy, and my thanks for your time! 😀
AFH ❤
Who does the cover pages for your work?
Hi Marley! Thanks for the question. For the novels shown on this post, The Chase and The Catch and A Touch of Mistletoe were done by Aisha Akeju, and Baby’s on Fire was done by Raphael. Some of my favourite photo cover work was done by Megan Derr, including Înflori, Honour, and Forty-two Stairs. However, I’ve been blessed by working with several artists so far, so if there’s a particular cover that you’d like to know more about, please follow this link to my author list at Less Than Three Press, clink on the novel you’re interested in, and then select the “artist” button for more details.
They’re all truly brilliant and I’m sure that they’d love your kudos and/or commissioned work. Thanks so much! ❤ 😀
OMG!! Your life is so crazy busy! But all in a good way! 😀 I am so happy for you that things are going so well and that the currents of the Great River of Words are so working in your favour. 😀
And buddy? I can never thank you enough for everything. *hugs you tight* ❤
*hugs back*
It’s truly my pleasure. ❤
Love seeing you so busy at what *you* love, my friend. HUGE congrats! ❤
Thank you so much, Vin! <3<3<3
Pingback: So, what’s new with you? | Boys in Ink and Colour
First guess… Kelly Wyre. I’m all out of guesses if that one ain’t correct.
You have no idea how happy I am to see all that because I’ve been sitting here since that stomach thing with you wondering what the… “are you doing better?!”… But for whatever reason just haven’t found the courage to send you a super long lengthy email summarizing those four simple words.
Of course the guest blog post raised my spirits a little *assuming* that it means you’re doing better because you accepted and wee (yes, pun intended) fans over here are just beside ourselves (read.. me over here just beside MYSELF) at getting to read something from you… outside the world of fiction. Because, you know… getting to hear an author speak makes him… transcend into divine status.
Or something like that. 😛
I may or may not be on something right now. XD
Nevertheless… CONGRATULATIONS!! 😀
Best thing is seeing all that hard work pay off for you. As soon as… the crazy gets put back into that box I misplaced a day or so ago… I’ll continue with the celebrating jig. In private of course. Don’t want to be blinding any of you lovely people. XD
❤
Thank you very much! I’m honoured to read that. 😀
