Înflori made it into the finalists list for the 2013 Rainbow Awards! (Category: Gay Contemporary Romance) Needless to say, I’m stunned, honoured and thrilled. This novel means a lot to me, and knowing that it’s been short-listed to be part of this awesome award simply blows my mind. Thank you. So very much.

Hallelujah, it’s 2013. The Dragon is finally slinking back into his cave and here’s hoping that the Snake sliding out to replace him is a little kinder.
That being said, 2013 looks promising. It looks hopeful. It’s chock full of shiny, pretty things and I’m convincing myself that it’s going to be fantastic.
What are these baubles of delight of which I’m so pumped about? Well, thank you for asking. Let me fill you in…

At thirty-eight Ian knows better than to search for love in a bar. It was craving that drew him there, it was shattered self-esteem that urged him to leave, but it was fortune that brought him Jordan. Sexy, young and single–it was only a brief encounter that Jordan was looking for and he was adamant that no amount of coercing was going to change that. After all, Jordan already had more than enough on his plate trying to scrape a life together for him and his autistic son, Cole… <click here for more>

Coming 2013 with Less Than Three Press for their “Rocking Hard” Anthology
Malcolm didn’t have a lot going for him. He wasn’t one of the blessed, or one of the beautiful. He didn’t have many talents. He was, however, a damn good chef. He worked hard and he insisted on perfection – not just from himself but also from everyone else in his kitchen. And if that made others miserable, that was just too damn bad. If one couldn’t live up to expectations then one didn’t belong at Burgeon Manor… <click here for more>

Silas’ father had always been distant. Career-focused and single-mindedly pursuing the American dream, he’d provided Silas nearly everything money could buy. Emotionally however, Silas’ early years had been destitute. While that should have left Silas bitter, it merely fueled his own desire to succeed, to be strong. Even with his father’s recent suicide, Silas refuses to succumb to emotionalism – not even as he packs up his father’s belongings and says good-bye. And what is this you say? It looks like the ebook Înflori yet … somehow … slightly more tangible. Could it be? Is it true? Why yes, indeed it is! Înflori is coming in print to Less Than Three Press! But when, you say, when? Soon, I answer, soon. Stay tuned. 😀
Will there be another contest? You know… I’m thinking that just might be an excellent idea! Keep watching for further details.

“So, today started off with extreme levels of suck. I was up late, but woke up early anyway. D: I hate that. I finished the book I was reading and was then completely lost as to which book I wanted to read next. Too many to choose from. I hop in the shower and nearly break my neck, because I’m just that graceful. Then, I wind up leaving the house later than I wanted to go to town to run a couple of important errands. Because I was running late, I had the decidedly bad luck to get stuck behind a LONG funeral procession. It doubled the time it normally takes me to get to town. (For the record, I hate going to town already as it is, so I was pretty grumpy by this time.) So, I finally get there, pay a horrendously large bill (car insurance) and run a couple of other errands and am now completely broke. And haven’t finished Christmas shopping. ANYWAY! On my way home, I’m nearly in 2 car accidents because (and I’m positive this is true) I’m the only one in this damned state that knows how to drive, and do it sensibly! I was never happier to see my house. Stopped to grab the mail on my way in, and I had a lovely little package from Canada. Instantly my day is looking up. XD So, I pulled into the drive, turned off my truck, and rather than wait until I’m inside like a normal person, I open the package and grin like a fool about the contents. My first thought was, “OMG! I have an autograph from one of my new favorite writers!” and I literally flailed like an idiot, right there in my truck. (I regret nothing.) I then pop out and run into the house, take a few minutes to make sure Best Buy sent the proper color Wii so as not to ruin my Christmas (lol XD It’s weird knowing what I’m getting for Christmas.) then set about brightening my day. And this, boys and girls, is how I did it. XD
I framed the card with the message for me on it and hung it behind my bed. No, I’m not kidding.”
(For those that are curious about the other things in the picture: to the left is one of the brackets for the shelf of some of my stuffed animals that James put up over the bed for me. Next to that is the bottom of one of my dream catchers. (I have 2 in here at the moment.) And just beyond that you can barely make out the edges of very old pompoms in my high school’s colors. I got them at one of the few games our football team ever happened to win. Since it was our cross-town rivals, it was a big night for everyone. lol To the right you can just see the other bracket at the edge of my calendar. It’s a wolf calendar. Who’s surprised? XD And the white thing is my bedside lamp.)Here’s a close-up of the framed card. (That’s an old frame I had laying around. I’m going to get a new pretty one this weekend. :p)
-flails all over again- I have an AF Henley autograph! -flails harder- He’s going to be super famous one day and I’ll already have his autograph! 😉
And finally, the pendant that I won in his contest to spread the word about his first published story, Inflori.
(Pardon my tiger hat. I wear it almost constantly now even though my Clemson Tigers (college I’ve never attended and never will. lol) lost to our stupid rivals last weekend. I get grief from the fans on the other side, but I still have my Tiger Pride!)
So, as you can see, what started off as a crappy day turned downright awesome! And now, I’ve decided what to read next. (Since I can’t decide between rereading Anne McCaffrey’s Pegasus trilogy and rereading Diane Duane’s Young Wizard series, I’ll just reread something else.) Gonna read Inflori for the 8th time. No, I’m not kidding. I really love this story. If you haven’t read it, you should. Worth the price and the read!
It’s the responses like this that make this crazy game of penning ink (tapping keyboards) so worthwhile. Thank you, Sammi, for the kind words and the support along the way. I’m thrilled you like the piece, and honoured that enjoyed the novel enough to share your views on it.
