It’s hard to believe that September is a hair’s breadth away, isn’t it? What happened to the summer? Apparently, its wings seem that much quicker to me than does its wintry sibling.
Regardless, I will not lament the upcoming horrors of December and January and instead look forward to the impending change of leaf and greenery into the canvas that Mom Nature does such fine things with. As such: new season, new outlook – new stories, new starts.
So … one may ask (if one cared to, and I hope one does), what is happening? Where are we? Tell us, Free, where you’ve been, what you’ve done and what we can expect.
To which I, so cheerfully, will reply: Why, I’d be thrilled to!
October 9 – Thicker than Water (Novella with Less Than Three Press, M/M Fantasy Romance)
Thicker than Water is one of LT3’s Proud to be a Vampire collection (Volume 1). It will be available for purchase as a standalone, or in print as part of the collection.
A hunter with an undeniable score to settle, his compelling partner, and a vampire that needs a few lessons on humanity and the true meaning of love … that can’t possibly end well, can it?
October 30 – Rockabye (Serial Fiction with Less Than Three Press, M/M Contemporary Erotic Romance)
Rockabye is my first serial fiction with LT3. It’s part of the fantastic Rocking Hard series (Volume 3) and is proudly sharing space with some very fine authors: Elyse Night, Alex Powell, Ashelia McGregor, James L. Craig, Sylvia A. Winters and May Ridge. Rockabye will begin posting on October 30th, and the ebook version goes up for sale on June 25th, 2014.
A chef with a chip on his shoulder, a rockstar with enough charm to melt icebergs, and a chance at love … if the two of them can wise up enough to make it happen.
December 4 – the Gift (Novel with Less Than Three Press, M/M Fantasy Erotic Romance)
I’ve been working on the Gift for longer than I care to remember. It’s one of those novels that I’ve started and finished half a dozen times only to decide that it needs to be redone yet again. It’s 87,000 words, and has a style and design that’s quite different from the rest that I’ve submitted.
The Gift follows the path of a romance ripe with magic and intrigue. Told from many sides, it is a story that leaves the reader to decide if the gifts that make one special are truly blessings or curses, and if lives are merely a game of fate or a series of manipulations that forge truer destiny.
Details coming soon.
February 19, 2014 – Second Star to the Right (Novel with Less Than Three Press, M/M Contemporary Erotic Romance)
I’m so in love with this cover. In case I haven’t mentioned this already, say, sixty-eight million times.
Rented romance, an overbearing desire for something in his life to complete him – Mason is struggling in his pursuit for love. He’s reached a point in his life when it’s time to give up hoping for things that will never happen and start reaching for those he can hope to achieve. If only the prize was willing to stay still long enough to let him. Or is Jack just another lost cause?
Details coming soon.
And hot off the Press (not really) … drumroll, please …
April 15, 2014 – Honour in audio book format!
That’s right, Honour is going to be released as an audio book. Hopefully, if all goes well, with a sexy British accent that should fit perfectly for the setting of the story. (Allow me to pause here for a moment and go: Mmm … British accent …)
There we go, I’m fine now. As we were.
I’m all kinds of excited about this. Stay tuned for more details.
What else? (You mean, there need to be more? Oh, the pressure of more …)
I’m proud to let you know I have a WIP that’s just about ready to stumble into the light, wide-eyed and blinking, finding its feet like a new foal. All I can say at this point is that it’s a story about addiction, recovery, and learning how to find footfalls along life’s path that work for the person trying to take those steps. And romance – always romance – because sometimes Mr. Right doesn’t wait for the perfect moment.
Also, for those that follow, keep your eyes open at y!gallery. Just because summer is ending doesn’t mean the fun needs to get set on the shelf. Maybe, in fact, it’s the ideal moment to remember the kind of fiction that got us here in the first place.
Stay tuned. I promise giveaways. And candy. (OK, maybe not candy.)
By the way, I’d love to hear from you. What have you been up to this summer? What are your plans for autumn? Do you have any cool news to share or hilarious stories that you’re simply dying to pass along?
Drop me a comment, send me an email, poke me on Skype or Facebook. Let me grab you a drink and we’ll get all close and personal. As bright as the sun in the sky is, as warm as the afternoon’s can still be, I guarantee that winter’s coming, folks. Let’s find a way to get through the next few months together.
A.F. Henley ❤
