Vision Quest – Part XXI

Chapter Twenty-One of Vision Quest is now up!

Whew. What a ride. I had no idea when we started this venture that it was going to lead to a story we could be so damn proud of. Don’t get me wrong, I’m proud of all my work, as I know that Kelly is with her creations. However, a tag-team fiction can be freaking tough to manage. Picking up where somebody else has left off, running with it in what you can only hope is a similar direction, and keeping both characters true between each posts is … well, it’s hard. Damn hard. Having a talented and forgiving co-writer makes things a hell of a lot easier, though. Thank you Kelly. You’re brilliant, and it’s been an honour to work with you.

We’ve had over three thousand views, collectively, and I say this not out of pride (though I admit to a good strong rush of said emotion) but out of sheer amazement. I am thrilled you’ve all enjoyed the posts as much as the two of us enjoyed writing them. My love and thanks to every one of you who stuck with us.

So now, without further ado, but with much fanfare and awestruck appreciation to her skill, her character development, and ability to make the literary snake eat its own tail, I present to you…

You wake up one morning, (and yes, as long as both the hands of the clock aren’t actually on or over the twelve, it’s still considered morning) you stumble to the computer, (well it does take time to load up and such, best get it going right away, yes?) and the first thing you read is …

I’VE DONE A THING

Considering those words came from the lovely and talented Kelly Wyre, I will admit to a moment of panic. This kind of panic, in fact:  Oh, God. I’m going to have to help get rid of a body!

It’s not so much the murder/accident/slip of the wrist that I was afraid of, understand. I just completely abhor digging. Seriously. Manicures are expensive.

When immediate participation became mandatory, I began searching out the other lime green bubbles on chat, just to see if any of the other support staff were online and available for emergency consultation. They were not.

So needless to say, when the name “Blaze” came up, the relief was immediate and overwhelming.

That was the day Vision Quest was born. It’s a free read, tag-team fiction that jumps off the original Blaze story. But it does that jump in ways that the story had no idea it was born for. And I love it.
